Zaporizhzhia NPP received a certificate from NEC “Ukrenergo” confirming the possibility of providing ancillary services of frequency maintenance reserve to the transmission system operator at +/- 20 MW.

The peer review of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) at Zaporizhzhia NPP continued for two weeks. A final briefing has been hold today with handling over the report on the results of the review to the General Manager.
At Zaporizhzhia NPP, a peer review of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) has started.
The team of experts at Zaporizhzhia NPP included representatives of nuclear power plant operators from Hungary, Russia, Armenia, Iran and Ukraine.
Specialists of Zaporizhzhia NPP took part in an international online workshop, which was organized and conducted by WANO at the request of nuclear power plant specialists from 11 countries. Subject of the workshop: “Basic principles of maintenance and repair”. The main purpose of the event is to share experience.
At the request of the Hungarian Paks NPP, an international working meeting was held via video conference in the support of WANO. The subject of the meeting was the effective use of external and internal operating experience. Representatives of the operating organizations and NPPs of Europe and Asia, the WANO London office and the Institute of NPP Operation (INPO, USA) shared their experience in 23 presentations.
The webinar subject was developed to minimize the impact of the human factor in the operation of nuclear power plants. The webinar was attended by specialists from training Center, Personnel Professional Development Department, Quality Service and other departments.
Zaporizhzhya NPP hosted the Workshop of the World Association of Nuclear Power Plant Operators, the topic of which was operational solutions. That Workshop was held online for the first time.
The event was attended by representatives of Zaporizhzhia NPP Operations Department, Power Reactor Chief Specialist Service, Water Radiochemical Laboratory, Oversight Department, Training Center.
The representatives of other nuclear power plants and the SE “NNEGC “Energoatom” management also took part in the WANO workshop.
SE «Zaporizhzhia NPP» and Energodar Municipal Council signed a memorandum of cooperation. The signing took place on January 29, 2021 in the building of the Energodar Municipal Council.
Dmytro Orlov, Mayor of Energodar, welcomed the representatives of «Energoatom” and said: «We understand that this cadence will be recorded in the history of fruitful work between the Utility representatives and local government representatives, whose relations will reach a new level of mutual respect, support and a number of joint projects».
A delegation of representatives of the Utility Management Board headed by Acting President of NNEGC “Energoatom” Petro Kotin arrived at Zaporizhzhya NPP on a working visit.
The program of the visit is varied and includes all important activities of Zaporizhzhia NPP, and all the facilities of the plant to be visited are closely combined into one ultimate goal – improvement of safety and reliability of both Zaporizhzhia NPP and the united power grid of Ukraine.
The visit began with attendance at the Zaporizhzhia NPP dry spent fuel storage.
The specialists of Zaporizhzhia NPP participated in the International Forum of the WANO Youth Movement on the topic “Youth Movement. Today, tomorrow and always!” The three-day event took place in the format of a video conference, where the youth of nuclear power plants shared their best practices and plans for 2021.
