Planned IAEA inspection took place at Zaporizhzhia NPP

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors conducted a planned inspection at ZNPP Unit 4, which is in mid-scope repair. The inspection was held in the framework of international Agreement between Ukraine and IAEA about non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.

The IAEA inspectors made up a physical inventory of nuclear materials, technical maintenance of observations systems and IAEA protection. Also the management of accounting and reporting documents was reviewed.

As Dmytro Kasianenko, Head of Nuclear Safety Department noted, the inspection was successful and without complaints.

IAEA is world’s only international expert on nuclear guarantees and civilian nuclear programs control. The aim of control is to prevent the transfer of nuclear materials, which were utilized at the nuclear facilities, situated in 70 countries, for military goals.
