SE «Zaporizhzhia NPP» and Energodar Municipal Council signed a memorandum of cooperation. The signing took place on January 29, 2021 in the building of the Energodar Municipal Council.
Dmytro Orlov, Mayor of Energodar, welcomed the representatives of «Energoatom” and said: «We understand that this cadence will be recorded in the history of fruitful work between the Utility representatives and local government representatives, whose relations will reach a new level of mutual respect, support and a number of joint projects».
SE «NNEGC «Energoatom», as a socially responsible company, which has undertaken special social responsibilities within the country, will build direct relations with local governments of the satellite towns of nuclear power plants and enterprises in order to establish strong relations and a fruitful dialogue while protecting state interests and ensuring the successful future of Ukraine.
«By signing a memorandum of cooperation between Zaporizhzhia NPP and Energodar Municipal Council, the Utility intends to establish warm and strong relations in cooperation. We wish to restore the association between the mayors of the satellite towns of the nuclear power plants of Ukraine, so that they can work together to make joint decisions and improve the living standards of the towns», commented the President of «Energoatom» Petro Kotin.
The primary goal of the memorandum is to establish active and fruitful cooperation to ensure stable growth of the quality of life of the residents of the satellite town of Zaporizhzhya NPP on the basis of balanced and coordinated development of the economy and society based on innovation, economy and the strategic interests of the town and Zaporizhzhia NPP, the region and state, participation of public in the decision-making process of formation and implementation of policies in the field of ensuring the lifetime of nuclear installations as well as openness of local authorities.
«The town of Energodar is the energy capital of Ukraine. Comfortable living of urban residents working in the town-forming enterprises is a guarantee that the operation of nuclear and fossil power plants will be reliable, safe and will only benefit the development of our town. I want to make every effort to accomplish this task. I guarantee that the administration of the nuclear power plant will fully support initiatives that will benefit the city. I wish fruitful work for all of us!» Yurii Kulba, ZNPP Acting General Manager, summed up the signing of the memorandum.
