The specialists of Zaporizhzhia NPP participated in the three-day international working meeting on “Increasing the capacity of existing WWER power units”, organized by the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO).
The event took place in the format of an online conference, the purpose of which was to exchange experience and knowledge gained by operating organizations and nuclear power plants in the field of increasing the capacity of existing NPPs with WWER reactors.
The event was attended by representatives of NPPs and operating organizations from different countries: Paks NPP (Hungary), Kola NPP (Russia), Temelin NPP (Czech Republic), Tianwan NPP (China), Kozloduy NPP (Bulgaria), Kudankulam NPP (India), Bushehr NPP. (Iran) and representatives of WANO. The specialists from NNEGC Energoatom and four nuclear power plants of Ukraine also presented their work.
“During the international meeting, it was interesting to get acquainted with the experience of other nuclear power plants operating WWER reactors. All the reports were meaningful and relevant. And although online communication has certain limitations compared to live meetings, nevertheless, in the current reality, it is a format that allows you to stay in touch with colleagues from other countries without stopping the exchange of experience,” said Deputy Chief Technologist of Zaporizhzhia NPP Alexei Bogomolov .
The meeting was finalized with the results on the current state and the possibility of increasing the capacity of NPPs with WWER.
