ZNPP summarized the results of the annual assessment of Safety Culture at the Zaporizhzhya NPP on the basis of staff self-assessment questionnaires about state of Safety Culture. Comparison of the survey results obtained in 2016 and 2014 allow drawing conclusions about consistently high level of Safety Culture at ZNPP in all aspects.
The annual survey is conducted at the Zaporizhzhya NPP since 2010. The Service of Social Diagnostics in Quality Department performs the survey among the ZNPP personnel under guidance of the leading sociologist Natalia Nasikovskaya. The aim of the survey is to assess the current level of Safety Culture in the plant structural units, development of recommendations and proposals for improvement of Safety Culture.
Every year the specialists of the Service involve about 2,000 people from different areas into the survey. «Questionnaires enable the personnel to express their opinions on various aspects of their activities related to safety and organization of work, collaboration within the structural units, relationships with the managers. The information obtained is used to compare responses between different groups of staff to determine degree of differences in perception of various issues of Safety Culture. The difference in opinions of managers and staff can talk about the degree of relevance of the problem. Accordingly: the greater the difference in views among managers and staff in relation to the studied issue, the more attention must be paid to this issue», - says Natalia Nasikovskaya.
Report with the summarized results of the survey with plant personnel is submitted to the management of the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant, heads of the departments and in the local network of ZNPP to familiarize all ZNPP personnel.
Safety Culture is one of the priority areas of activities at all nuclear power plants of Ukraine. Its assessment is an ongoing practice in performance of SE «NNEGC «Energoatom».
