Representatives of NNEGC Energoatom have discussed the possibility of implementing the products and technical solutions developed by French engineers with the experts of the French company Technetics Group for Ukrainian NPPs. The meeting of the Energoatom delegation in the persons of Director of Atomkomplekt, Andriy Maistrenko, Director of Documentation Support for the Energoatom Tender Committee, Ludmila Sumer, and Director of the representative office of Energoatom in Brussels, Andrei Tyurin, with the representatives of Technetics Group France SAS which was hold as part of the 50th anniversary event of MAESTRAL Research Laboratory. MAESTRAL Laboratory is a joint project for Technetics Group France SAS and French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEO).
French scientists and employees of MAESTRAL Laboratory have informed the representatives of Energoatom of the results of recent research in the field of predicting the behavior of metallic and inflatable seals in nuclear energy.
NNEGC "Energoatom" was especially intrested in experience of the MAESTRAL laboratory for testing metal seals of type HELICOFLEX®, which are used at Ukrainian NPPs for systems of the second class of safety. HELICOFLEX® seals, manufactured and designed by the Technetics Group France SAS engineers in technical collaboration with the French Nuclear and Alternative Commission, have been used for decades at existing NPPs worldwide, and have proven their reliability at Westinghouse Electric Company, General Electric, Doosan, Framatome, EDF, MHI, IHI, BHK, CNNC and others.
Representatives of Energoatom have hold triparty negotiations with Technetics Group France SAS and Framatome GmbH with the participation of Jean-Jacques Darqué (EMEA Business Development Manager - Technetics Group France SAS), Thomas J. Ritter (Senior market manager Nuclear Technetics Group France SAS), Jan Liebig (Section Manager, Program manager bei Framatome GmbH), Ronald Landefeld (Expert and project manager Framatome GmbH).
During the meeting they have discussed the experience of exploitation of inflatable seals of premises of the European NPPs and the possibility of implementing such a technical solution at the Ukrainian NPP. Experts of Framatome GmbH have invited Energoatom’s experts to Switzerland at the Gosgen NPP, which operates the inflatable seals manufactured by Technetics Group France SAS.
Moreover, on June 19, 2019, NNEGC Energoatom and the French company Technetics Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in the Nuclear Energy Sector
