The EBRD Commission worked at Zaporizhzhia NPP

The Commission of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development worked at Zaporizhzhia NPP. During the visit, the representatives of the commission monitored implementation of the contracts implemented under the Comprehensive (consolidated) Safety Enhancement Program for nuclear power units and verified the implementation of safety enhancement actions at Zaporizhzhia NPP.

Within three days, the commission was reviewing the technical and financial documentation, interviewing the plant managers and specialists performing installation works, and visited Unit 5, where the equipment had been already installed.

At the final meeting, Igor Murashov, Acting Chief Engineer of Zaporizhzhia NPP and representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development thanked all the experts who participated in the inspection, and outlined a plan for future cooperation.

The impressions of his first visit to the largest nuclear power plant in Ukraine was shared by Michel Levy, Head of the On-Site Central Office of AJC Development Consultant. He called the commission's work fruitful, said that he had received a lot of new information regarding the organization of the plant activities and expressed his hope that the joint work would support the implementation of the Safety Enhancement Program for nuclear power units.

Georgy Krivoshein, Head of Ernst & Young LLC, Credit Inspector Consultant Group, mentioned that a large amount of work had already been done at Zaporizhzhia NPP, but to that day, there were a lot of things that should be done. The deadline for the contract is next year, and then the commission will visit ZNPP again.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development credits the purchase of the equipment in accordance with the Comprehensive (consolidated) Safety Enhancement Program for nuclear power units. Transparency and compliance with European standards at all stages, from the procedures for equipment purchasing, supplying, installing and commissioning, are the main requirements of credit agreements.

Zaporizhzhia NPP adheres to all of the above mentioned items, taking care of safety enhancement of its power units.
