A week-long training workshop on “Leadership in Nuclear Power Industry” started at Zaporizhzhia NPP, and it was held by representatives of the WANO Moscow Center in cooperation with Zaporizhzhia NPP. The workshop was held for NPP senior and middle management, heads of the utility departments, as well as managers and instructors of training centers for their training purpose.
The training workshop was attended by organizers and lecturers of the WANO-MC, representatives from SE “NNEGC “Energoatom”, SE “Zaporizhzhia NPP”, SE “Rivne NPP”, SE “South Ukrainian NPP”, SE “Khmelnitsky NPP”, as well as WANO Youth Movement at Zaporizhzhia NPP.
During the opening session of the training workshop, Yuriy Kulba, Zaporizhzhia NPP Acting General Manager, addressed to the participants with a welcome speech. He noted that the workshop on “Leadership in Nuclear Power Industry” was very relevant and would be of benefit to everyone who attended that event.
After that, the floor was given to Andriy Lukianenko, Head of the “Training and Development” Program, WANO-MC. “I would like to thank the management of Zaporizhzhia NPP for having invited us to hold a seminar on Leadership in Nuclear Power Industry at their site. Holding workshop of this type is an approach that was developed at a joint meeting between the WANO-MC and management of SE “NNEGC “Energoatom” two years ago. The decision to hold a leadership workshop at one of the Ukrainian NPPs every year was taken at the meeting. When we hold such seminars, we take a certain approach - we teach those people who will continue to teach. And to implement this approach, Zaporizhzhia NPP will be provided with the complete set of training materials, videos and presentations for further use in the plant activities,” Andriy Lukianenko said.
The program of the training workshop on “Leadership in Nuclear Power Industry” provides for training on the topics: “Nuclear Power Industry - Leader and Leadership”, "Nuclear Safety Culture and Leadership Fundamentals”, “Ways to Improve the Nuclear Safety Culture Condition at a NPP”, “Personal Behavior Styles”, “Inspirational Leadership, Basic Qualities of a Leader, Quality of Personnel Performance” “Work Performance Monitoring and Coaching”, “Behavior Pattern’Generation, Positive Reinforcement, “Work Time Management”, and “WANO Leadership Documents”.
During the workshop, the participants would have a technical tour to the Training Center of Zaporizhzhia NPP with a visit to the SE "NNEGC “Energoatom” Special Maintenance Personnel Training Complex, established on the basis of Zaporizhzhia NPP Training Center, with a review of the main equipment of the WWER-1000 reactor facility.
