Mid-life outage of ZNPP Power Unit 5 has started

On 25 May, 2016 at 00:01 ZNPP Power Unit 5 was disconnected from the power grid and transferred into scheduled mid-life outage for 65 days. The planned end of repair is 28 July, 2016.

During the repair it is scheduled to perform the following basic maintenance works: mid-life outage of the reactor facility with the core reloading; overhaul of the steam generator 3 (SG–3); overhaul of the main circulating pump 1 (MCP–1); overhaul of the MCP 1 electric motor; overhaul of the emergency cooldown heat exchanger; shipment of 48 spent fuel assemblies to the spent fuel dry storage facility (2 multi-seat sealed baskets); monitoring and  preventive  works  in the containment pretesting system; mid-life repair of the steam turbine with opening of the  low-pressure cylinder; mid-life repair of technologically interconnected equipment: turbine generator - exciter-switch, current repair of the conduction; current repair of "A" "B","C" phase block transformer.

In addition, it is planned to perform the following scheduled tasks: pipelines maintenance of the diesel oil industrial warehouse of the standby diesel-generator 2 (RDES 2).
Currently 2 Power Units of ZNPP are in operation with total capacity of 1980 MW.

Since the beginning of 2016, ZNPP has already produced more than 12 billion kWh, since the beginning of operation - more than 1 trillion 42 billion kWh of ecologically clean electricity.
