WANO representatives hold training workshop at SE Zaporizhzhia NPP

In frames of preparation to WANO peer review, representatives of World Association of Nuclear Operators organization started the three day training workshop on «WANO peer review methodology». The delegation works under the direction of Director of WANO Moscow Center Mr. Vasyl Aksyonov.

SE ZNPP General Manger Mr. Petro Kotin stated in his opening speech that this training workshop is very important for our site to provide training of SE Zaporizhzhia NPP experts.

SE Zaporizhzhia NPP Instrumentation and Control Department Engineer Mr. Yevgen Kalinichenko won in IAEA International Competition on writing the best essay on nuclear physical protection. His creative work is called: «Emergence of technological threats and capabilities in area of nuclear physical protection in digital century».

IAEA routine inspection is conducted at SE Zaporizhzhia NPP

During the period form February 12 to February 15, 2020, International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors conduct regular routine inspection at SE Zaporizhzhya NPP power unit №6, which is now currently stopped for the interim overhaul. The inspection is conducted in frames of International Agreement on Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons between Ukraine and IAEA.

WANO Technical Support Mission ended up at Zaporizhzhia NPP

WANO Technical Support Mission on “Application of risk-informed approaches (risk-monitoring) for maintenance and repair optimization during power unit operation at power” took place at Zaporizhzhia NPP.

This project is implemented at Unit 2 with international technical assistance of USA Government. The primary objective is to increase the utilization factor of installed capacity by means of security important systems repair, during power unit operation at power and to reduce the duration of outages without security diminution.

The WANO experts were introduced, mission purposes and objectives and challenging issues, which are to be solved, were announced at the entrance meeting.

IAEA assistance mission started at Zaporizhzhia NPP

A three-day IAEA assistance mission on “Leadership and Management for Safety” started at Zaporizhzhia NPP.

While welcoming the mission participants, Petro Kotin, General Manager of Zaporizhzhia NPP stated that the IAEA support mission is very important for the plant and shall be beneficial for every participant.

The IAEA is developing a document related to cyber security at NPPs

The IAEA is developing a single standard for all international NPPs with a tools set. The document will become a reference for cyber security training in nuclear power industry.

The meeting of the leading nuclear programmers from nuclear power industry, working on the development of the draft document was held in Vienna (Austria). Stanislav Steblyuk, Lead Engineer-Programmer of Zaporizhzhia NPP I&C Department participated in the work as a representative from Ukraine.

The Cooperation Agreement between NNEGC “Energoatom” JSC “Turboatom” was signed at Zaporizhzhia NPP

On August 27 at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant the President of NNEGC “Energoatom” Yuriy Nedashkovsky and General Manager of JSC “Turboatom” Victor Subotin signed the program of participation of JSC "Turboatom" in modernization of the Ukrainian NPP for the five-year period from 2020 to 2024.

A specialist of Zaporizhzhia NPP studied experience in organization of water-chemistry at Kozloduy NPP

Svetlana Yaseneva, Deputy Head on Operation of the Water Radiochemical Laboratory, Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, visited Kozloduy NPP, Bulgaria to study the experience of organization of secondary circuit water chemistry and service water system. The delegation also included representatives of water-radiochemical laboratories of other Ukrainian NPPs.
