ZNPP news: meeting
A three-day IAEA assistance mission on “Leadership and Management for Safety” started at Zaporizhzhia NPP.
While welcoming the mission participants, Petro Kotin, General Manager of Zaporizhzhia NPP stated that the IAEA support mission is very important for the plant and shall be beneficial for every participant.
At Zaporizhzhia NPP, a routine inspection of SE “NNEGC “Energoatom” NNEGC is ongoing to assess the current nuclear safety performance. The commission is composed of the representatives of nuclear power plants of Ukraine and experts of the Safety Surveillance Directorate.
A scheduled inspection of NPPs is carried out by SE “NNEGC Energoatom” every two years in accordance with the requirements of the “Nuclear Safety Rules for the Reactor Facilities with Pressurized Water Reactors” and the “Standard Nuclear Safety Program for the Nuclear Power Plant Inspection”.
The group of experts from United Kingdom, Czech Republic, China, Corea and representatives of the national insurance pool have completed their work at Zaporizhzhya NPP, having performed international insurance inspection.
During the close-up meeting conclusions of the inspection were made; the experts indicated the best practices of ZNPP and shared their impressions and recommendations.
IAEA Senior Nuclear Safety Officers, Ronan CAVELLEC and Simon MORGAN, worked at Zaporizhzhya NPP in the frames of the preparatory OSART Mission visit.
During the close-up meeting the plant experts and IAEA representatives expressed their thanks, discussed the results of the preparatory visit and evolve plans regarding preparation for the OSART Mission.
IAEA Senior Nuclear Safety Officers, Ronan CAVELLEC and Simon MORGAN, are working at Zaporizhzhya NPP in the frames of the preparatory OSART Mission visit.
During the initial meeting the participants as well as the ZNPP representatives responsible for their areas were introduced. Mr. Olexandr Ostapovets’, ZNPP General Manager, provided detailed information regarding the NPP operation, and the IAEA representatives, in their turn, articulated their recommendations as for the preparatory visit.
The group of experts from United Kingdom, Czech Republic, China, Corea, as well as representatives of the national insurance pool arrived at Zaporizhzhya NPP to perform International Insurance Inspection.
During the initial meeting the participants were introduced, the objectives and contents of the inspection were discussed, as well as the ZNPP representatives responsible for their areas were introduced.

The three-day program foresees a very detailed study of all aspects of activities at the NPP. It covers four main areas: nuclear safety and operation, third party liability, operation and maintenance and fire safety.
IAEA Senior Nuclear Safety Officers, Ronan CAVELLEC and Simon MORGAN, have arrived at Zaporizhzhya NPP for preparatory meeting before the OSART Mission. The preparatory meeting will be convened in the period of 21-24.05.2019.
The program of the meeting covers discussion of organizational issues of the OSART Mission, provision of information to Zaporizhzhya NPP Management regarding the methodology of the mission. Also, the IAEA representatives will perform the NPP walkdowns. Finally, the results of the preparatory visit will be discussed.
In the framework of the 9th International scientific-practical conference on NPP safety culture, which took place on 9-10 of April 2019 in Kyiv, a traditional ceremony of award of SE “NNEGC “Energoatom” best specialists and structural subdivisions was held.
