Zaporizhzhia NPP specialist took part in WANO work at Kozloduy NPP

Yurii Chernichuk, Zaporizhzhia NPP Unit 4 supervisor, took part in the World Association of Nuclear Operators mission work, as an international expert, which was held at Kozloduy NPP. The mission subject was “Safety briefings during the work permission and before equipment switch”, which was ordered by Bulgarian party as a result of peer review in 2017.

“Exchange of the briefing experience as a remedy from violations and receiving the practical recommendations concerning the improvement of activities as regard to briefings for Bulgarian party, was the target of the mission», Yurii Chernichuk noted.  

The expert team and Bulgarian party introduced their presentations during the mission.  The specialists discussed the provided information. After completion of mission work the WANO expert team submitted a number of recommendations to the Bulgarian party.

“The representatives of all sites shared their positive experience and developments on the mission subject. In fact, such experience enriches a lot professionally, contributes to self-development and improves the knowledge and skill level of personnel.  Some moments, which will increase safety level and work quality, can be realized within Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant”, Yurii Chernichuk shared his impressions.

During their visit to Kozloduy NPP the experts had a technical tour at NPP visiting Unit 5. The experts visited main control room, power unit turbine hall, electrical rooms (controlling computer system, unified hardware package) and emergency diesel power plant. Also the experts got acquainted with post-Fukusima measures implemented at Kozloduy NPP.
