Acceptance tests of water-chemistry regime automated chemical control system for Unit 5 Zaporizhzhia NPP took place in Slovakia

Acceptance tests of primary and secondary circuit water-chemistry regime automated chemical control system for Unit 5 Zaporizhzhia NPP took place in Bratislava (Slovakia). The acceptance commission leader from Zaporizhzhia NPP was Oleh Chernyshov, head of computer subsystems laboratory, Instrumentation and Control Department.

“The aim of these acceptance tests was to check the system capability, its correspondence to the  technical specifications and delivery terms. The equipment was packed up and shipped in our presence, – the mission leader noted. – After the equipment arrival at our plant the specialists of Instrumentation and Control Department and installation contracting organization will take part in its installation and setup”, Oleh Chernyshov stated.

The water-chemistry regime automated chemical control system is implemented to set up an up-to-date system of monitoring and diagnostics of NPP technology areas water-chemistry regime. The system application and the application of main and auxiliary technology systems and security systems laboratory control will help to increase the power unit operation reliability, to improve its security level by minimizing the capital expenditures. This system will allow providing a constant control of water-chemistry regime parameters and diagnosis of reasons in any violation symptoms, and also it will be useful in assistance for main control room operating personnel and water-chemistry laboratory in regime supporting at the regulated level of reliable and operating quality control in real time.

The same systems of water-chemistry regime automated chemical control are already implemented at ZNPP Units 1, 2, 3, 4.
