The specialists of Zaporizhzhia NPP participated in the International Forum of the WANO Youth Movement on the topic “Youth Movement. Today, tomorrow and always!” The three-day event took place in the format of a video conference, where the youth of nuclear power plants shared their best practices and plans for 2021.
The purpose of the event was to discuss the work of the youth movement in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, training on current topics of young professionals, review of positive practices at nuclear power plants, informing about the results and plans.
“At Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, 20 young active workers were involved in WANO. This is a personnel reserve and the future of the enterprise, said the coordinator of the youth movement of WANO at ZNPP Andriy Tuz. “Our youth movement has activities that we can share as positive practices with other sites”.
“As the head of the peer review teams, I try to pass on the methodology and features of the work of peer review team to our young specialists” said Victor Livinskyi, a representative of WANO at Zaporizhzhia NPP. “Some of them have already received certificates and can participate in peer reviews at other plants.”
The WANO youth movement began its development in 2014. And it has been improving for six years. Its main tasks are the development of technical competencies and knowledge about WANO and the training of a new generation of its experts.
